Designing an online experience for talent acquisition

Premise

A Dubai based talent and influencer acquisition firm required a new online experience for their website capable of incorporating their social media acitivities alongside a diverse roster of talent. All the while their presence needed to retain an air of simplicity, elegance, and be refreshing to view. The requirements were also for a backend management system beyond the catchy front-end that was modular yet scalable.

Challenges

  • Designing web presence for an online catalog of talent and acquisition.
  • Catalog, present, and market a diverse roster of talent.
  • Modular future scalable CMS.

Approach

  • UI/UX
  • Experience Design
  • Content Management

Background

During 2016 I was tasked with designing a new front-end and guiding a customised back-end development for Muse, an up and coming talent acquisition firm operating in Dubai. They dealt with a wide range of talent from child stars to fashion models and social media influencer, therefore their catalog required a bespoke touch that was able to present diversity with ease.

Due to the variation in the clientele they dealt with, the system they needed required an array of different data points that had to be understood and catered for.

Process

As they provided for a buzzing talent market in Dubai they needed a system that could make it easier for prospective clients such as television studios and producers to be able to sift through their catalog with ease. The design was done in two stages, first client requirements were understood and the different data points used in talent management systems laid out. This gave an idea for the scope of the design along with its accompanying back-end.

Pages were designed to be modular with components reusable for different kinds of data. The end result gave them a tile-based interface that was fully controllable through a customised WordPress CMS back-end.
